
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Jayek Jimenez (September 2nd, 1966)[3][4][5] is a Mexican and American actor as well as film producer. In Mexico she started her career with the role in the role of Teresa in the telenovela (1989-1991) and El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), where she was nominated for an Ariel Award. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were but a few of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's portrayal as Frida the painter in Frida (2002) the film that she also co-produced and directed, resulted in Hayek the first Mexican actress to win the Academy Award [6]. This also earned her the Golden Globe Award nomination, Screen Actors Guild Award nomination, and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to make films as well as starring in action pictures Once Upon a Time in Mexico in the years following.
