Larter made appearances in various films during her tenure during her time on Heroes. The actress earned seven-figure earnings to make her debut Bollywood movie Marigold. The film received primarily negative critiques. Also, she starred as Claire Redfield in Resident Evil: Extinction. It is the third installment of the popular series based off of Capcom games. She performed the role of Claire Redfield, based on the video game character of similar name. While it wasn't a hit with critics, the film grew by three times its budget. Larter has also been seen in the comedy about cavemen Homo Erectus which was released in direct-to-DVD format. Hayes MacArthur - an actor she planned to marry - also appeared in the movie. Larter appeared alongside Beyonce in the movie thriller Obsessed. The film opened in the top spot in its box office however received a negative review as some critics were comparing it to Fatal Attraction .
